FAQs
How do we “get started”?
To start, fill out the “Contact” form. We’ll get in touch and find a time that works for you to have a 15-minute consultation. The phone consultation is to see if we’re a good fit. If it seems we’re a good fit, then we’ll get an intake session scheduled. In the intake session, you can give me a more thorough idea of why you’re seeking therapy. We’ll come up with some clear goals, create a plan, and set a recurring time to meet.
What if we’re not a “good fit”?
Not to worry, not being a “good fit” doesn’t mean failure or loss. It just means that I might not be the best suited to help you towards your goals. If that does happen, we’ll talk some more about what you’re needing, and I will provide you with some referrals that may be better suited to support you.
How does therapy work?
Therapy is a varied and broad practice. Generally, it works by creating a safe and collaborative space to work through the struggles that are holding you back, and to reinforce the strengths that are supporting you. There are many styles, approaches, and methods used to accomplish this. I draw from Internal Family Systems, Emotion-Focused Therapy, and Somatic Experiencing to create an interwoven style that adapts to your unique needs and identity.
Do you offer in-person services?
No, I do not. By offering exclusively virtual services, I am more sustainably able to provide meaningful and accessible support.
Do you take insurance?
Yes. Please see the Services page for a list of accepted insurances and other options.
